Description
The Nanomine single-crystal diamond plate is manufactured with a crystal orientation of 100. It features 5mm diameter and 0.4mm thickness. This makes these diamond plates ideally suited for advanced applications including mechanical tools, optical windows, and heat spreaders.
Both the top and bottom surfaces of these diamond plates are polished which provides superior clarity and excellent performance. The 100 crystal orientation offers smoother surface finish and exceptional performance.
Benefits
Leveraging the intrinsic properties of single crystal diamond to deliver performance that exceeds the limits of traditional optical materials.
Advanced Electronic and Semiconductor Capabilities
Featuring defect densities at or below the parts per billion (ppb) range, the ultra-high purity of single-crystal diamonds results in considerably low point defect concentrations. These diamonds also feature outstanding semiconductor and electronic properties.
Good Radiation Hardness
Diamonds have an atomic displacement energy of 42 eV/atom which lends outstanding resistance to radiation damage. This property of diamonds results in stable and highly sensitive performance.
Wide Applicability
Single-crystal diamonds are perfect for multiple mechanical applications. Be it the mirror finish of a smartphone or the manufacture of copper wire in airplanes, the use of single-crystal diamonds has found its way in several demanding applications.
Tool Manufacturing Excellence
The rating of 10 on the Mohs scale lends exceptional hardness to lab-grown diamonds single-crystal diamonds. The good wear resistance and low coefficient of friction makes them ideal for precision tool manufacturing.
Applications
Everything you need to know about our technology, sustainability, and applications.
Radiation Detection and Nuclear Applications
The wide bandgap and high displacement energy of carbon atoms makes diamonds suitable for solid-state detectors in high-energy physics. As compared to silicon detectors, diamond based detectors operate at room temperature without cooling and maintain high charge collection efficiency over long durations.
Quantum Application
Single-crystal diamond plates are specially engineered for quantum technology applications owing to its exceptional optical properties and high sensitivity. The ability to precisely control nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers ensure superior operational performance.
Mechanical Tooling
Single-crystal diamond plates are also ideal for use in the machining, mining and construction industry. High hardness, good wear resistance, low thermal expansion coefficient and low friction coefficient make single-crystal diamonds ideal for high-precision tools.
